Irrigon's first annual "One Plug Derby" was held on August 12 at the Irrigon Marina.  Forty-three people formed 15 teams to fish for Walleye.  Crank baits were the only lures allowed in the One Plug Derby.  Competition began at 2pm and ended at 10pm.  The 43 people caught 42 fish with a combined weight of 134.18 pounds.  Weather and fish both cooperated so it was an enjoyable day for anglers and event organizers alike.

The first place team of Jimmie Laposi, Jimmie Laposi Jr., and Jerome Mshar of Kennewick, WA caught 6 fish weighing a total of 24.62 pounds. First place winners went home with a check for $1103.

Second place team was Kevin Lochridge of Richland, and Rick Glazier and Ron Rada of Burbank, WA.  Lochridge, Glazier and Rada's fish weighed in at 17.62 pounds and they received $618 total.

The team of John Egge, Kellie Egge and Daniel Combes of Irrigon weighed in 4 fish totaling 14.98 pounds for a check for $314.
